and we're home...well almost

Hi all,

This will be our last blog as we're on our way home. We're waiting for our plane at Helsinki.

We had a great time in both Italy and Finland. Italy was just as we remembered her. The only place we visited where we hadn't been before was Napoli. Neither of us liked it that much (dirty etc) but it was close to Pompeii and Sorrento so it was a good base.

Rome and Florence were loads of fun but Sez and I drank a little too much and probably didn't do as much sightseeing as we should have.

Whoops gotta catch the flight, we're being called. Back on 15 Oct so keen for a catch up with you all.

Over and out.

Andrew and Sez

andio greece

ciao italy

ok! so were in italy now. Napoli to be exact. Heading to pompeii tomorrow and capri the next day. we think.
But before we start on the italiano we should say a little about our stay in greece.
A rotten overnight flight got us into athens at about 2 am and we attemped to sleep at the airport until a bus could take us to the port, and our ferrie, at 7am. After a 8 hour boat ride we arrived on santorini island.
Really amazing island with some really amazing bus drivers! crazy bastards! Anywho, we did a day trip to the hot springs by the volcanic rocks and trekked for a few hours on one of the islands now dormant volcanos. Was interesting to walk along the black rock and watch the sulphur gas vent out in certain areas of the volcano.
All and all we managed to relax for a few days here and recover from barcelona.
Next was the island of mykonos and back to the partying (but luckily didn't come across any over-zealous bouncers).
Beaches here all have bars and once it hits 5 the music is well and truely pumping and lots of young kontiki travellers sprawl the sand/pebbles....
We hired a four wheeler here to add to the entertainment until we got stuck at one of the beaches for a little while when it wouldnt start, oh and it had such a great amount of power that sarah had to take on the hills by foot when it couldnt hack it!
Met some ..interesting aussies staying above our appartment.. lets just say that the young lass couldnt hold her liquer... or her dinner... spent some time apologising to the waiter for that mess!
Also got to check out an apartment that was going for over AU$2000 per night. Some young Aussie blokes spending cash like no tomorrow. YAY cheap night for us! suckers!
Alrighty well thats about all we can think of right now.
Hope all is well in the land of aus! :D

Party party party

Hello from Barcelona

Sry we are very lazy bloggers but here is the next chapter to our adventure.

We spent a very quick stop at Cordoba where we visited the very famous Cathedral and did not much more. We were absolutely stuffed after very little sleep in Seville. From Cordoba we travelled to Granada which was amazing. We stayed in avery cool hostel up in the mountain overlooking the Alhambra where we drank and played cards on the terrace. The Alhambra was absolutely amazing and definitely worth the 6am rise to get tickets (around 6000 ppl visit every day). Very good Tapas in Granada and free with a beer so everybody´s a winner. Sez was a bit disappointed with the Sangria though, not that it stopped her.

From Granada to Valencia for more of the same Spanish fun. Did a fair bit including the Arts and Science Museum, Acquirium, Botanic Gardens etc. Hostel was insane, it was so colourful and the bar was pumping til the wee hours.

About to leave Barcelona today after three days of partying. We managed to get here for the biggest festival of the year. Free concerts downstairs at the hostel and in places all over the city. Managed to see Picasso museum and a bunch of architecture by Gaudi, particularly the Sangrada Familia.

Times up so better run, flying to Greece in a few hours.

From Portugal to Spain

Ola! haha were definitly getting the spanish lingo down pat! By which i mean we get laughed at with most attempts!
We are now in Seville, Spain after travelling from lagos, Portugal. (Which was AMAZING! Hot, beautiful coast line, beaches and a REALLY lively night time atmosphere, that was a killer for the bus ride to spain!)
Anyway, Seville is lovely, again like portugal beautiful buildings and plenty of historical monuments to visit. Tomorrow were off to cordoba to visit a mosque and then off to granada!
Cheers :D... time for some sangria and flamenco...

We made it :D

Hi all,

Well after a mammoth 38 odd hours door-to-door (including a delayed flight from London), we finally arrived in sunny Lisbon. We are a bit tired but today we went out and saw most of the sights of Lisbon. Lots of intertwined cobblestone roads, statues, monuments, and plenty of stairs! Its got that real Mediterrian feel about it and seems somewhat like Spain. Today is a barmy high twenty something so hope we didn´t get burnt. Off to see a Lords palace tomorrow which is about an hour from the city, then its down to Lagos.

Thats all for now, will keep you up to date with all our adventures.

Take it easy,
Andrew & Sarah
